  1. It would be good to relocate the bluestone cottage to another location in Marshall – (eg. tennis club – and available to other community members/groups) – to preserve local Marshall history and broader Geelong history. Of value to the community in perpetuity.

  2. It is important to preserve such period buildings for future generations. They are few and far between. They provide a window into the past that, once gone, cannot be revived.

    My forebears, the Steens, Crows and Watsons, bought land in vicinity of the cottage from the late 1850s. Other forebears worked in the nearby tanneries. Therefore the cottage is a glimpse and a connection to that era. It is a building my forebears saw that I can also see.
